Darren Aronofskys neuer Film Noah ist ein Herzblutprojekt. Schon seit Jahren hat er die Idee im Kopf und sucht jemanden, der ihm das Projekt finanzieren würde. Als Ansporn dafür gab es sogar eine Graphic Novel, die zeigen sollte, dass das Projekt Interesse beim Zuschauer finden kann (Daher stammt auch das Bild oben, in Frankreich bereits erschienen).

Nach Gerüchten, dass Michael Fassbender oder Christian Bale die Rolle kriegen könnten, gibt es nun neue Nachrichten: Russel Crowe soll die Rolle des Noah übernehmen und Liam Neeson die seines Gegenspielers, der im Dorf Noahs Namen verunglimpfen und den Bauch der Arche verhindern will. Klingt gut, oder?

Regisseur James Wan und Drehbuchautor Leigh Whannell, wohl besser bekannt als “die Typen, die SAW gemacht haben”, hatten letztes Jahr einen kleinen Schläferhit namens ‘Insidious’, der 100 Millionen $ einsackte. Im Hinblick auf das verschwindend kleine Budget von 1,5 Millionen $, ist das ganz schön beachtlich. Mir hat er auch ganz gut gefallen, denn er fühlte sich sehr erfrischend an.

Die Geschichte braucht eigentlich kein Sequel, aber bei dem finanziellen Erfolg spielt das ja, wie wir alle wissen, keine große Rolle. Aber erst mal abwarten, ob ,angesichts des Box Office Erfolgs, die Schauspieler überhaupt wieder zu kriegen sind, sollte das Budget wieder ähnlich klein ausfallen.

Der Siegeszug des Stummfilms und großen Oscarfavoriten ‘The Artist‘ geht weiter. Jetzt gewann Regisseur Michael Hazanavicious auch noch den Directors Guild Award. Neben ihm wurden noch James Marsh für seine Dokumentation ‘Project Nim‘ und Patty Jenkins für den Piloten der sehr zu empfehlenden Serie ‘The Killing‘ in nennenswerten Kategorien ausgezeichnet. Am Ende stand es 13 zu 10. Ganz überraschend hat das Polizei-Drama Polisse (dt. Poliezei) mehr Nominierungen für den französischen Filmpreis 2012 erhalten als Oscarfavorit The Artist. Quentin Dupieux‘s 2010 film Rubber starts off with a monologue explaining that many things in the world, or more specifically in the world of movies, happen for no reason. His follow-up feature Wrong, which had its world premiere at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, is 90 minutes proving that statement. The film is non-stop ‘no reason.’

Yoshihiro Tatsumi gilt als Begründer des so genannten Gekiga-Genres. Gekiga sind Mangas, die realistischer gezeichnet sind und häufig ernste Themen und Gesellschaftskritik beinhalten. Damit richten sie sich vor allem an ein erwachsenenes Publikum. Der Film Tatsumi erzählt in wunderbar animierten Bildern eine Geschichte angelehnt an Yoshihiro Tatsumis Leben. Der Film feierte seine Premiere 2011 in Cannes und wurde dieses Jahr als Kandidat für den besten ausländischen Film von Singapur (dem Produktionsland) eingereicht.

Alle zwei Monate findet im Berliner Filmcafé in der Schliemannstraße (Prenzlauer Berg) das Filmquiz Fang den Film statt. In Teams von bis zu 5 Personen könnt ihr hier euer Filmwissen testen und mit anderen Filmverrückten Spaß haben. Am Mittwoch den 25. Januar findet das Filmquiz zum 11. Mal statt.
